Weigh-in day for initial 30 day cleanse...

It's hard to believe that 30 days ago several of you embarked on a new journey.  You began the new  year with new determination and drive.  In the last month 40+ individuals either began, completed or are about to begin their cleanse journey.  I am thrilled with how great everyone has done.  Tonight we will meet for our weekly weigh-in.  Same location, same time (my house 6-7pm).  I look forward to sharing the results with you. I have been getting great feedback on so much more than just weight loss.  Great job everyone.  See you tonight...

Coming Clean? Are you ready?

Good Morning friends,

As several of you prepare for your final weekend of your 9 and/or 30 day cleanse others are just beginning their cleanse program.  I commend you for the hard work you have put forth and for the dedication you have committed to.  The results to date are incredible as you will soon find out for yourself.

I would like to welcome my good friend Steve to the 9 day cleanse.  Steve is also following along on our blog plus he is also writing his own blog about his experience with cleanses in general and now the 9 day cleanse.  Coming Clean is his journey toward health and wellness.  I will be following Steve's blog and I invite you to do the same.  Here is a direct quote from Steve's blog... "My intent here is to write about my 9-day cleanse, but also talk about how colon cleanses can actually help guys prevent prostate disease. Cleanses, in fact, can play an important role in prostate health, as I wrote about in my book, The Prostate Storm. For me, as a cancer survivor with a prostate that still needs nurturing, doing whatever I need to do to make sure my prostate remains healthy is a good reason for the occasional cleanse.  Good luck to you ... and to all the guys in your life, mid 40s and up, going through their "prostate years"!
Steve's willingness to share his story about his prostate cancer experience and how cleanses in general have helped him is great.  I encourage you to share with your husbands, boyfriends, fathers, and any man you care about. You can find the link to Steve's blog on this blog or by clicking on the following link. http://myninedaycleanse.blogspot.com/

Please touch base with me if you have any questions at all.  I look forward to hearing from you. :-)

Good morning Friends,

Lots of exciting stuff happening and lots of great results!  Several of you are beginning your cleanse, are at mid point or are on your home stretch.  Regardless of where you are, I encourage you to stay focused and finish what you started.  Every week I am seeing the evidence of the results being achieved.  I have spoken to several of you and am truly encouraged by the progress you are making.  Next week we will be posting results for the 30 day cleansers.  I look forward to it!

Don't forget... Tonight is measurement night.  If you have not yet been measured I highly recommend attending.  The weekly weigh in has been a great way to stay focused and on track!  See you tonight..

My 9 & 30 day challenge - first weekend

Good morning everyone. Several of you are in your first weekend of our cleanse challenge. I am Excited as we are approaching your first cleanse day.

Roxy completed her first 2 cleanse days yesterday and as of last night when we spoke she was excited and seeing positive changes.

Robin we would love to hear how you are doing. Today is Robin's 2nd cleanse day.

- The first cleanse day for those of you who started your 30 day program last week will be this Monday. A few of you have chosen Sunday as your cleanse day since you find it easier on a weekend day. Everyone else can do Monday since being at work sometimes makes this day easier. It's up to you, but be sure to touch base and let us know how it's going. If you need anything I am only a phone call away.

My client Kate (age 75) began the 30 day cleanse 2 days ago. I am going to try to help her get on the blog, but in the meantime I will post her comments on here. Kate's will be the first comment under todays blog. Feel free to write to Kate and I will be sure she gets the message...

Maureen would love to hear how your evening out with friends went....

Happy healthy weekend all...

Answers to some of your questions

Hi everyone,

Hope you are having a great day!  I have copied and pasted the posts from today to this updated post.  I'm not sure why some of your posts are going to Monday's blog, but just in case anyone missed it I have reposted below my comments.

Meds - A few of you had some questions about medications that you are on and how Isagenix would affect you.  I have responded to you in an e-mail, but basically everything looks fine.  If you are taking something and are unsure please let me know and I will look into it immediately.

Sandy, I can totally relate to cooking and having the yummy smell of food and then not being able to have it.  I did that all last month with Roy.  Fortunately since he decided to cleanse this month we are on the same page and that is wonderful!  Don't worry though, the first few days are tougher but you will get through it and as you begin to see results you'll be so excited and motivated that it won't even be an thought for you anymore. :-)

Flori, Hope day two went well for you.  I would recommend using a blender for your shake.  I spoke to Roxy today (she is in Ft. Myers and doing the 9 day) and she mentioned getting a great little mixer/cup in one at Walgreens.  She will post that as well so you can take a look at that option.  Maureen's sound similar too, so that may work as well.  I personally use my blender.  I use 2 scoops of protein powder and about 3/4 of a 16ox bottle of cold water (I think I'll measure tonight) and about 4 ice cubes.  It's really a preference thing, whether you like it thicker or not.  I LOVE mine.  I hope yours tasted yummier today.

Maureen, you and Greg are doing great!  I know it's challenging to keep from thinking about snacks and treats when we have become so accustomed to doing so, especially after dinner.  I know it's harder for Greg.  How about a snack of berries?  Last night I gave Roy some blueberries and strawberries.  He was happy with that.  Rasberries are great too. It was better than no snack and they really did taste good.  How was your Ionix Supreme today?  Any better?  How does Greg drink it?  Roy pretty much does a straight shot and I pour it over ice.  As for including carbohydrates, how about chickpeas, beans?  They have carbs too and can be seasoned with a little bit of olive oil if you like.

Don't forget everyone that we must include some good fat into our meals as well.  Don't go fat free because that is never optimal.  Choose healthy fats like olive oil or avocado.  In moderation of course. :-)

Roxy I know this is cleanse day number one for you and tomorrow will be your second cleanse day. You sounded good when we spoke earlier today.  Congrats on your daily running, I'm so proud of you.

Robin, will be cleansing tomorrow and Saturday.  Robin, I know you'll do great.

Bonnie, you are doing great!  Congrats once again on getting your cast off.  I know you have been ready for this.  It was good to hear that you were able to get a workout in today and felt good.

Loetitia, how are you doing? You are on day 4 of the 30 day.  Hope all is great.  I look forward to seeing you in the morning.

Remember that a cleanse day is exactly that...  Cleansing your body of toxins and impurities.  The cleanse drink is filled with many nutrients therefore your body will not be in a starvation mode.  Once again, you may include "some" snacks if you feel a need on your cleanse days but the liquid only cleanse is optimal.  I personally have included a couple of wafers, some egg whites, and raw broccoli on my cleanse day.  It's up to you.

There will be others jumping onto the blog in the days to come, as several people are just now receiving their products and will be starting in the next few days.

My lunch was fabulous today.  I had grilled chicken breast strips with cooked red and green pepper with some chili peppers added.  I put the chicken on a whole wheat wrap and added the peppers along with a very small amount of low-fat cheese and some honey dijon mustard.  I know that probably sounds weird but it was very tasty.  I also included a small side salad.  Hope your lunch was delicious! :-)

Hi everyone! I'm Flori and today is my first day. I'm hoping to get some help with how to mix my shakes, both my shakes today were not good. This morning it was very lumpy so this evening I tried it with ice and it was very thick, I had to eat it with a spoon, neither of these were as enjoyable as I think they should have been. Does anyone have suggestions on how to make the shakes smooth and creamy without a blender? Any suggestions are appreciated. Otherwise, day one was fine, no major complaints, I definitely think it's doable. I look forward to reading the blog. Stay Strong!!

Hi Flori!

Glad you're on board with us :) I just use 8 oz of water (maybe just a bit more) and around 4 to 5 ice cubes and blend. Also, just 2 scoops of the IsaLean Shake mix. Did you have better luck this morning?

Hi Flori - I have a shake container from General Nutrition Center that has this metallic ball that resembles a whisk - after you add the 2 scoops powder and 8 oz. water (and only 1-2 ice cubes) you close it up and shake vigorously for a minute and it is blended very well. Good luck!

Hello fellow cleansers...My name is Lisa. I started my 30 day cleanse today. The Ionix Supreme was no worse that the hundreds of alcohol shots I have downed through the years. The vanilla shake was somewhat tasty:) And on with the day....Stay Positive!!!! Lisa

Update

Good morning everyone,

I'm hearing great things so far.  A few of you are already on day three.  Sandy(30day), Robin(9 day), and Flori (30) are starting today.  By next week we should all be in full swing.

I encourage you to do your workouts.  The workouts are important in helping you continue to burn calories but primarily fat.  The workouts will help in increasing your  metabolism.  Your success rate increases with exercise.  If you are not in camp, I encourage you to find a program that works for you and follow it.  If you cannot get to a gym, then take a power walk 20-30 min a day minimum.  The bottom line is keep your body moving.  Don't concern yourself with tomorrow or next week or the cleanse days, simply focus on each day at hand.  Do the best you can with the choices you are making.  Plan ahead in order to ensure that you have a healthy meal option at lunch.  Share your ideas, feelings, comments with us here.

I'm off to do my workout and then to have my breakfast shake right along with you.  I will also be cleansing on your cleanse days so that I too can be a part of your experience.  We can do this together.
  • For those of you on the 30 day cleanse, the plan is to have the first cleanse day next Monday Jan 10th.  This will keep most of us on the same page.  If that day does not work for you, then you may absolutely change it to a day that works better.
  • For those of you on the 9 day cleanse, you will want to complete 2 full shake days first (also called pre-cleanse days) and then go into your first two cleanse days.
  • Next Tuesday Jan 11th 6-7pm we will meet for week on measurements.  Anyone not yet measured is encouraged to come and get them taken.  Trust me when I tell you that having your measurents, both circumference and body fat taken will truly show  your progress on a week to week basis.
Have a fabulously wonderful and healthy day! :-)

On Your Mark... Get Set... GO!!

Good morning,

We had a great meeting last night.  It was good to see some of you and to have an opportunity to share more about the isagenix products and what to expect during your 30 day challenge.  We also held measurements and pictures which we must all have at the start of your program.  A few of you will be starting today through Thursday and others are just now placing their order and will begin next week.  We have a great group, so far 24 people will be participating.  Both men and women.  I am so excited for each of you.  Here is a great website that I shared with everyone in attendance last night.  http://www.isadiary.com/ Here you can click on whichever day you are on in your program and it will guide you through that sppecific day.  There are sample recipes and answers to most questions as well.  Hope those of you who have started are doing well.  Please talk to me if you have any questions or concerns.  The first cleanse day is scheduled for next Monday Jan 10th, this will help to keep us all on track, plus a weekday cleanse I believe will be easier than a weekend cleanse day.  Once you receive your products and are ready to start please post it here or send me an e-mail so I can keep track of where each of you are and how you are doing.  Have a wonderful and healthy day... :-)
